We had a windfall from our supplier of the to-die-for Marzipan and Pistachio Cream from Sicily. Both products were made by Stramondo (whose main focus is ice cream and pastry). Cash in on these two gems while the supply lasts.
Here is the long ingredient list. The marzipan has organic almonds and cane sugar. Period. Their Pistachio Cream is organic Bronte pistachios and cane sugar. That’s it. You can use it instead of almond paste with incredible results.
Use the marzipan in a wonderful cake from Diana Henry’s new book, Simple or in Nancy’s Sicilian marzipan ice cream. You can use 6 ounces of the pistachio cream instead with equally yummy results.
