About the Shop Owner
Elizabeth Todd spent the first part of her career as a copy-writer who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then she decided to get off the printed page and do it herself.
Her boutique in Old Town Alexandria, The Shoe Hive, made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. It soon won the designation as one of the top 25 shoe stores in the entire country according to a prominent national fashion magazine. Nine years later, she has tripled her store size and branched out into accessories and jewelry too.
When she’s not chasing two toddlers and a Boston Terrier around Old Town, Elizabeth is an advocate for local small businesses and doesn’t see a need to leave Old Town much.
