Sharing Old Town with Our Canine Friends
As a new dog owner, I have a new appreciation for how dog-friendly our Old Town boutiques are. My dog was walking me (yes, I wrote that as I meant it) one day last week when I realized you might find it helpful if I shared a few of my favorite stops for treats, toys and tail-wagging. (Poor use of alliteration, I know.)
Stuart Nordin has a unique selection of toys and other goodies to keep your dog out of trouble at home. Ask for the chicken snap treats–they’re a huge hit at my house. The Christmas Attic has ornaments to commemorate your love for your canine friend during the holidays. And did you know that Diva was actually named after the owner’s dachshund? She is even featured on the store’s logo!
On a warm day, stop into Bishop Boutique, The Christmas Attic or Stuart Nordin to let your pup get a cold drink of water.
The employees at Zoe Boutique, Today’s Cargo and The Shoe Hive always have treats and belly rubs to keep them entertained while you shop.

This time of year, however, I recommend that you stop by The Dog Park and stock up on these adorable Valentine’s Day dog treats. How perfect are they?

Walk by fibre space and you will likely see Nemo–the owner’s miniature greyhound–perched in the window. Feel free to bring your puppy in too, sit and socialize, and work on your latest knitting project in the store’s comfortable lounge.
I leave you with perhaps the cutest photo I’ve ever seen, courtesy of Periwinkle and their custom dog collars.
So, tell me. What are your favorite dog-friendly spots in Old Town?

Gotta love the resident pup, Buddy, at dog-friendly coffeehouse Killer ESP (http://killeresp.com). And last weekend at Abaca Imports (http://abacaimports.com) not only was I offered tea, but my Westie was invited in for biscuits.
